Question by Nikita: How many credit cards should you have to rebuild credit?
I am trying to rebuild my credit after ID theft, a couple of problems that were mine and years of basically not having any credit reported. (I primarily use my debit card and pay cash for everything). I make good money now and am trying to rebuild in order to purchase a condo in the next couple of years. My good accounts (rental, club, cable, cell, etc.) have not reported my good credit. So how many cards should I take out that will help boost my credit score but not hinder my credit. Thank you!

Question by lawdawg: Should I pay off low rate credit card balances with my savings?
I have over $ 20,000 on a 3.99% apr for life of balance credit card. I am paying more than the minimum and should have it paid off in about 3 years. I have the money in savings to pay the balance off right now, but, that would leave me with almost no savings left. I am currently earning 5.01% on my savings. Should I pay off the card or keep it the way I have it since it would be hard to get another 3.99% loan anywhere right now??

Yes, immediately take the savings and get yourself debt free now. There is no problems for people with good credit to get loans now, the news is just trying to scare people, the credit freeze is for the people that have poor credit and shouldn’t have taken a line of credit in the first place.
